Vinyl Books are 12inch size hardcover books made to hold records. Although a hardcover vinyl book can hold other items such as discs, posters, and many other items (i.e., a mixed media set). We custom manufacture these books for you, so you can add any features you’d like to. Books usually have printed inner pages, just like a coffee table book but we can make them without pages.  Hanging or Swinging Sleeves , Glued on Sleeve Pockets can be used to hold vinyl or cds, or foam trays can be used for chunkier media. The outside of the vinyl book can be printed full color, or wrapped with a material like linen or leather.

QTY / MINIMUM ORDER 

Our manufacturing is film based, offset printing which requires printing presses to be set up so it isn’t really cost effective to do small quantities. For a good per unit cost, we recommend doing at least 1000 units with commercial palletized freight.

VINYL BOOKS INNER PAGES

Most books have pages. The inside pages in a book are made in 4pp increments. These are referred to as the inner pages or inside booklet. The booklet is attached to the book, and the method of attaching it often depends on how many pages there are.

• 8pp-28pp Stapled / Saddle Stitch Option
  • 4pp – 12pp can be attached to the wrap at the center spine.
  • 16pp+ should have one page glued down to the panel.
• 32pp+ Perfect Bound / Saddle Stitch Option
  • Spec’d with a 4pp cover (25o gsm) +  inner pages (150 – 100 gsm).
  • Covers are thicker material and can have special effects like foil or spot gloss.
  • One cover is glued to the end panel.

• Fly Sheets – usually either side of the booklet, black matte material is popular.
• Vellum Sheets

HARDCOVER VINYL BOOK CORE

Hardcover books are made with a chipboard core that gives the book rigidity and sturdiness. If the book is going to hold multiple records in swinging sleeves, we will use rivets to anchor the inner sleeves to the chipboard spine.

Hardcover books are wrapped with paper, fabric, or material. Most books use a full color printed paper wrap on on the outside, but we also have some special material options.
